Internet y la cultura: asunto para pensar, saliendo del anonimato

Discutir acerca de internet y la cultura puede ser una banalidad y también algo relevante. Cuando Google ofrece 2.080.000.000 entradas para "internet", 442.000.000 para "culture" o 225.000.000 para "cultura", algo debe haber en juego.

En Pajamas Media hay un debate sobre este asunto. Por un lado, John Hawkins (How the Internet Damages Our Culture), sintetiza su posición en el subtítulo

"America is ruder, cruder, and more paranoid than it once was. The anonymity of the Web bears much of the blame".

Y concluye diciendo que:

(...) "The only way to counteract the damage the net is inflicting on our society is to acknowledge that there is a problem in the first place".

Por otro lado, Adam Graham, le contesta titulando "Culture Makes the Internet Cruder, Not the Other Way Around". Y concluye:

(...) "Much thought and discussion will go into what those priorities should be, and successful execution will require people to participate in the most counter-cultural behavior of our times: thinking."

Pensar saliendo del anonimato: esta me parece una gran solución para no pocos problemas culturales de nuestros días, dentro y fuera de los USA, y sin olvidar internet.
